    • Tuesday--1/2 day on 1920s Quiz & 1/2 block on final project
    • Wednesday-- Full block focused on review for final exam
    • Thursday-- Final Exam
    • Friday--Sleep in.... NO SCHOOL!!
  3. Discussed strategies for the day:
    • Be selfish--don't sit near people that will distract you!
    • Make sure to meet the requirements for the research for your project before you begin the actual project
    • Make sure to use the internet to "fill in the gaps" of your story... don't know any major events in NYC during the 1890s???  Google it.  Wanna know how long it took to go across the Atlantic in 1887?  Google it.
  4. Went to the library to work on the project.  Goal for Monday: Have all research done & Bibliography completed.  Let Mr. M check you off so you can begin working on the final portion of it.

Project Work

Taught students which information they need to jot down when doing research for their Bibliography.

  1. Here is the template from class
  2. citationmachine.net or easybib.com are the two best sites I know of to create citations for their Bibliographies

We worked in the library all block on our project.  Here are the priorities:

  1. Get outline okayed by Mr. McDonald (finished yesterday)
  2. Take notes from textbook about your vocab terms chosen & people's lives during each unit (completed today)
  3. Begin taking notes from 2 different book sources (from cart in the library) to help develop a more complete character
    • Make sure that your notes are separated by source for ease....
    • I'd use separate pieces of paper.

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

1920s Quiz is now next Tuesday!

Project Work: Day 1

Day one Goals:

  1. Finish Outline & have Mr. McDonald sign it (outline can be found on the last page of the project sheets handed out yesterday)
  2. Take notes from textbook

Students should have been nearly finished with #2.  If they are not then they are already behind on the work on the project.
